Four Months

Our sweet Eleanor is four months old! She's growing up so fast!

Four months!
She has discovered some new things this month, such as learning how to squeal, turn pages during story time with Daddy, and she even had her first real laugh the day before she turned four months! She's given us a chuckle here and there, but this was a real 'hehehe' laugh. Apparently she really enjoys when we mimic her hiccups! She' is getting very good at grasping things, and loves to play a good game of 'handsies' with anyone who is willing. She currently loves playing with her giraffe toy (Jerry) and her taggie puppy (Rufus) - she smiles as soon as she sees either of them!

She's had a busy month. On the 24th, she had a laser frenotomy to revise her lip and tongue ties. She was such a little trooper, and was still smiling even though we could tell her mouth was sore for a while. She's doing much better now.

She says "I'm okay!"

We celebrated her first Thanksgiving with Aunt Charity and Uncle Paul! She had so much fun with them, and they made awesome baby sitters.

Eleanor just had her four month checkup, which went so much better than her two month. She cried while getting her shots and a little bit afterwards, but had no fever and no fussiness afterwards this time! Phew! She weighed in at a whopping 15 lbs 10.5 oz (90th percentile) and she was 26.25 inches long, which our pediatrician said is off the charts!

"I laugh at your charts!"
Without further ado, here is her four month video!

Well, we're off to decorate and get ready for Christmas. See you soon!

Three Months

If you've been patiently waiting for Eleanor updates, you can blame this adorable little time thief for the delay...

Who, me?

I can't believe Eleanor is three months old already! How did she go from being a (relatively) tiny newborn that only ate and slept around the clock to this sweet, active little girl full of smiles?

A few minutes old...
A few months old!

She has a wide variety of interests, including story time, playing with her activity gym, walks around the neighborhood, watching the ceiling fan work its black magic, burps, tummy time, and napping.

Some of Eleanor's most recent activities include dressing up as the cutest owl ever for Halloween, and she's recently discovered how to roll over - though it's really more of a topple in this video. She's already getting better at it, though!

He sure is!
Aren't I a hoot?

Okay, guys. Let's get real for a second. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it's not always sunshine and rainbows over here! Eleanor struggles with reflux and gas issues, and though she hasn't had an episode like this in the last couple of weeks, it's not an uncommon occurrence in our house:

She seems to be doing much better lately, and I've cut dairy and soy out of my diet which seems to be helping. Still, we can't wait for her digestive system to mature so we can see more of these sweet smiles!

Family Visits

Things are finally settling down around here, so I think it's about time to get caught up on some blog posts! We've enjoyed a lot of family visits over the last couple of months, starting with Aunt Charity. We were trying to get the hang of things with a newborn, so it was great having her around to cook meals and hold Eleanor so we could grab a nap or two.

Also around that time, Grandpa Jerry popped in for a couple of days!

Then it was Grandma Robin's turn! She did a lot of baby holding so we could nap and get a few things done.

We even managed our first non-hospital related outing while she was here!

Lunch with Grandma

We had a few weeks between visitors, then it was Aunt Natalie and Uncle Randy's turn to visit!

Their visit overlapped a day with Grandpa and Grandma Meyer's visit (can't believe I didn't get a photo of all seven of us together!). By this time, Eleanor was about eight weeks old, and we were able get out and go to parks and restaurants a bit easier.

Next up, Aunt Charity will be back with Uncle Paul for Thanksgiving! This little turkey can't wait!

Eleanor Rose

This may be a month late, but miss Eleanor Rose Meyer was born on August 5th, 2014 at 3:39 pm. She weighed a whopping 9 lbs, 12 oz and she was 22 inches long! She has a head full of hair just like her father's, and big beautiful eyes. This first month has been an adventure as we get to know each other and attempt to keep her fed and happy, but it's getting easier every day!

Why hello there!

Hello friends and family! As we are about to welcome our first child into our lives, I realized a blog would be a fun way to keep you all updated on her milestones and adorable pictures without bombarding Facebook (too much). So follow along as we attempt to figure out this parenting thing, and stay tuned for updates about our lives from myself (Destiny) and my husband (Kevin). I can't promise there won't be the occasional post from our eccentric cat, Nemo.
